Craig is a sure vote for any tax increase to come before the council.
He voted for a 20% increase in the regressive state sales tax, a 20% increase in the car tax and a 18% increase in the corporate tax.
He voted for a 52.6% increase in the top income tax bracket, even though that increase hurt his district more than any other in the state.
He voted for the computer tax that was later rescinded by the legislature.
He was a leader in the fight against the successful Ficker Amendment, which passed in Council District 2 by 10,000 votes. That Amendment limits the increase in county property tax revenue to the rate of inflation unless all nine council members vote to exceed that limit.
He opposes term limits for council members.
It is not surprising that councilmember Floreen supports Rice; for, she has voted herself to exceed the charter property tax limit four times, including the most recent time when she voted to exceed that limit by 420%!
