In 1986, Peter Franchot launched his first run for District 20 Delegate. There were two opens seats as Delegates Ida Ruben and Diane Kirchenbauer were duking it out for Stewart Bainum's vacated Senate seat. The Delegate field was jammed with eleven candidates. So Franchot brought out the most prized endorsement of all to help him win: former Takoma Park resident and Hollywood superstar Goldie Hawn. Franchot finished first. This is the mailer that helped put him over the top.
