At-Large County Council candidate Hans Riemer is announcing a new website, fundraisers in Bethesda, Burtonsville, Downtown Silver Spring and Rosemary Hills and the endorsement of District 16 Delegate Bill “Stud of the Statehouse” Frick. It’s worth noting that Riemer is running away with the Young Guns primary, picking up the support of Jackie Lichter (#2), Frick (#5), Marc Korman (#6), and of course, his campaign manager, David Moon (#1). The Chamber’s Lisa Fadden (#3) does not endorse during primaries, but if any candidate would like a stiletto heel in the rear end, she would probably be happy to oblige.
Following is Riemer’s email to supporters.
Help Fuel the Local Movement for Change...
...and have fun too!
Dear Friends,
The time is now to reposition and recharge Montgomery County for a new era.
If we do not work hard to change direction, so much of what we cherish about Montgomery County will begin to unravel.
I am running because I can help turn things around, starting with two key priorities:
Creating Jobs and Economic Opportunity
Protecting Montgomery County's Progressive Values
You can read more about my platform at our new website: www.HansRiemer.com
I can win, but I need your help---please take a lawn sign, make phone calls, organize your neighborhood, send $25 or more as often as you can. Better yet, please attend one of our exciting upcoming events.
Catch up with existing supporters like Councilmember Nancy Navarro at our Burtonsville event and meet other Democratic and community activists. Our momentum grows every day, and today I am pleased to announce that Delegate Bill Frick (District 16 Democrat) will announce his endorsement for my campaign at our April 18th event in Bethesda (see details below).
Like me, Bill has been a champion for small "d" democratic values. He has been instrumental in helping to extend healthcare benefits to uninsured working adults and is a staunch defender of public schools, civil rights, and the environment.
I look forward to working with Delegate Frick to create synergy for progressive causes between the General Assembly and the County Council. Please join us!
Together we can do this.
See you around town!
