Elly Shaw-Belblidia is currently a District 17 representative on the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee; she is seeking election to an at-large seat this year.
Regarding Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee (MCDCC): MCDCC members are the bedrock of the Democratic Party in Montgomery County, and Montgomery County is the Democratic engine of Maryland. Everyone on the MCDCC slate is committed to doing what it takes month by month, year after year, election time and non-election time, to keep the party strong and to represent the diverse population of Montgomery County. They have shown they have the skills, energy, and time to put into the party. A strong party requires nurturing the grassroots through our precinct system, training precinct leaders, ensuring that as many voters as possible can get to the polls and cast their ballots through our representatives on the Board of Elections, voter registration, community outreach at fairs and other public events, fundraising, distributing information about the candidates and issues for the general election, community service, and much more. Our goal is to elect Democrats, so far we have a good record, and we intend to keep it up.
