Ike Leggett Endorses District 18 Democratic Team

County Executive Ike Leggett released the following statement yesterday in support of District 18 Senator Rich Madaleno and Delegates Ana Sol Gutierrez, Jeff Waldstreicher and Al Carr.

In these challenging economic times, it is essential that Montgomery County Democrats return strong voices to Annapolis. From creating economic opportunity, to investing in our schools, the District 18 Democratic Team has worked tirelessly to put Montgomery County first. They have ensured that our priorities have been funded and have shown political courage by making difficult decisions to balance the budget. That's why I am proud to endorse the District 18 Democratic Team.

Vanessa is the candidate who is dedicated to opposing the transfer of teacher pension costs from the state to Montgomery County. The incumbent slate has been recumbent on this issue. Robin Ficker

All the King's horses and all the King's men couldn't put the Incumbent District 18 team together again. They want to screw Montgomery County homeowners by making the county pick up teacher pension costs. What is next? Bring in O'Malley, Mikulski, and Cardin, the whole Baltimore crowd, to endorse them? All because a little African-American lady named Vanessa won't go along with their plan to transfer teacher pension costs to Montgomery County, which would then raise property taxes?

Vanessa is going to win because the voters of District 18 are not as dumb as the political crony slate thinks they are. Vanessa is going to win by standing up for her constituents, not outside special interests! Why was the incumbent state Senator so stupid as to try to prevent an open primary for Delegate?
