Very effective spot. A bit scary, too. The pièce de résistance was Rush bloviating at the end. The man looks like he’s more Oxy-incontinent than ever.
This is obviously slanted towards “Blue Dog” Democrats and centrists/moderates, based on the imagery shown (fully two shots of welding, Montanan woman with checkbook, white children in Middle-American classroom, etc.)
Of course it’s sponsored in part by AFSCME, so that makes perfect sense.
I have to say, though, that the best AFSCME-funded ad is the one from the ’80s that the voice-over guy laid an alternate track for. If you haven’t seen it, google +afscme +parody +psa +vintage. Just a warning, the language is a little blue.
