Blair Ewing Endorses Cary Lamari

Former County Council Member Blair Ewing, perhaps Doug Duncan's biggest adversary during his 1998-2002 term, released a statement for Lamari on his website.

February 25, 2009

Dear Friends,

I am writing to tell you about Cary Lamari, who is running for the District 4 seat on the County Council in the Democratic primary special election on April 21, 2009.

Cary will make a wonderful council member. I endorse him wholeheartedly.
I have known Cary for many years. He has been very active in civic work in the county for at least 25 years, and knows the county well. He has served as President of the Montgomery County Civic Federation and other organizations, and has performed well and effectively in those roles.

Cary speaks his mind about the issues, and believes that the Council needs members who will stand up against special interests, and make certain that the county government and the council are not for sale.

Cary stands for good government, for honest government, for excellence in education, for solid county services, and for the protection of our land, air and water and for fiscal responsibility. He has shown a very special interest in improved mental health services and for services for those with disabilities.

The County will be facing many important decisions in their difficult economic times and we need someone who will put the interests of County residents first to represent us. That person is Cary Lamari.

I hope that you will vote for Cary on April 21. He won’t disappoint you. He will do an excellent job.

Sincerely,

Blair Ewing,
Vice President, State Board of Education
Former Member and President, Montgomery County Council
And Former Member and President, Board of Education
