Fox 5 News is reporting that Prince George's County Executive Jack Johnson is considering significant layoffs to the county's police and fire departments. The layoffs are a result of the region's economic problems (which are also affecting Montgomery County) and the Prince George's statehouse delegation's defeat of a proposal to allow the county to ease restrictions on property tax increases. Public Safety: Jack Johnson's Lowest Priority?
Adam should keep that question in mind if he writes again about Johnson's interest in seeking higher office.
