District 16 House candidate Kyle Lierman is reporting $106,571.56 in contributions and $42,778.69 in cash on hand for the period ending August 10, possibly the best result of any non-incumbent in the district. And these totals do not include any loans. While Lierman received 479 contributions, 54% of his money came from 32 four-digit checks. Each of his parents kicked in $4,000 and Virginia Congressman Jim Moran added $2,000. The Pollin family, who are friends with Lierman’s father, kicked in a combined $8,000. Among Lierman’s expenses was an $11,500 payment to national pollster Peter D. Hart, a pricey firm for a Delegate candidate.
