Ali Launches Listening Tour; Other Delegation Members Not Invited

District 39 Delegate Saqib Ali has announced a "listening tour" this week to prepare for his next campaign. Ali neither notified nor invited the other members of his district delegation - Senator Nancy King and Delegates Charles Barkley and Kirill Reznik - to participate. Following is the mass email sent out by Ali.

Dear Friend,

Thank you for your support over this past year and I wish you and your family a happy and healthy New Year.

As we begin to organize at the grassroots level in preparation for my next campaign, I am excited to inform you that I will be holding a listening tour around Maryland's 39th Legislative District (Gaithersburg/Germantown area). On the tour I will be listening to constituents' concerns, informing folks about our campaign's grassroots efforts and talking about my record of service for the past 3 years.

As I've mentioned in previous emails, it is vital that we begin to organize now to ensure that this campaign is up and running ahead of the coming legislative session in Annapolis (starting January 13th). I would love for you to join me at one or more of our listening tour stops listed below to help mobilize our grassroots. As a bonus, our campaign will raffle off a $50 gift card to The Cheesecake Factory restaurant to one lucky attendee at each gathering! Please bring friends and family.

One event on the list stands out: Thursday night's District 39 Caucus dinner, which is an annual event including the entire delegation and their friends. We have heard rumors that Ali intends to "pack" the dinner with his supporters for purposes unknown. Oh, the drama! Pictures, please!
