Weird Political Move of the Day

Duchy Trachtenberg is in hot free-for-all to snag the Democratic nomination for one of the at-large seats for the Montgomery County Council. I heard her voice on a robo phone call to my home today. However, oddly enough, it was not for her own campaign but an endorsement of Kweisi Mfume for the U.S. Senate.

I cannot quite fathom why Trachtenberg would link her name to his in a county that is bound to go heavily for Ben Cardin. Trachtenberg also has at least two pictures of herself with Mfume on her website. Of course, she also has lots of other pictures of herself with numerous other local luminaries from George Leventhal to Ike Leggett. Trachtenberg's full-page color ad in the Washington Jewish Week wisely has only pictures of herself and with family members.
