Nancy Navarro Calls for Unified Democratic Party to Keep Montgomery County Blue
With Every Vote Now Counted, Navarro Campaign Launches General Election Push
SILVER SPRING, MD – With every vote now counted, the Montgomery County Board of Elections has certified Nancy Navarro as the winner of the County Council District 4 Democratic Primary. Though the campaign plans to begin an immediate push for the May 19th General Election, Navarro paused to contemplate the significance of the moment:
“As we reach closure in what has been a hard-fought primary campaign, I want to reach out my hand to the supporters of my many strong opponents and ask them to come together in the General Election. Primaries can often be spirited and sometimes heated, but when the dust settles, the Democratic family must unite again, just as we always do. I want to thank the other Democratic candidates for bringing their passion and their ideas to this race. We only have a few short weeks until May 19th, so let’s unite to keep Montgomery County blue.”
For the coming special General Election, Navarro plans on replicating the outreach efforts to the new Democratic coalition she assembled for the special Primary: youth, seniors, environmentalists, women, Latinos, Asians, Africans, African Americans, and progressive activists. Additionally, Navarro hopes to join forces with all Democrats in District 4 and reach out to Independents, Republicans and Greens on the path to the County Council.
The campaign plans to hold a press conference early next week.
